This one-semester course is designed to acquaint students with the proper techniques for personal
use
of the computer. This course is required for students who do NOT have a computer course in middle school
and also is required for students who have selected te be in the Introduction to Business and Information
Technology Academy. Emphasis is placed on the mastery of the keyboard and the development of touch
keyboaring with speed and accuracy. Students will also lean the basic principles of keyboarding, work
processing, multimedia, spreadsheet, and database applications. Introductory Computer Concepts will fullfill
either one-half computer credit or on-half elective credit required for high school graduation. Introductory
Computer Concepts does not articulate with the College of Southern Nevada
and does not recieve Tech Prep credit.
