ACCOUNTING I

This course is designed to develop an understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures that are applied to accounting records kept for businesses. The course will present ledger and journal techniques, periodic adjustments, financial statements and simple computer applications.  This course may allow students to earn college credit from the Community College of Southern Nevada.
COMPUTERIZED ACCOUNTING

This two-credit course offers students instruction in accounting concepts using Peachtree Accounting for Windows and an electronic spreadsheet program. Basic accounting concepts for partnerships and corporations using both cash and accrual basis accounting are learned. Emphasis is placed on accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, financial statements, and financial analysis. Students also prepare individual tax returns and participate in the stock market over the Internet.
