COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION I            Construction pathway
Grades:             10
Prerequisite:      Introduction to Construction
Credits:             1
This one-year course will introduce students to the world of commercial construction. Through a hands-on approach, students will examine aspects of the construction industry including masonry, framing, electrical, and plumbing. Practical application of safe work habits and the correct use of tools and equipment will be emphasized throughout this course. This course will fulfill one of the elective credits required for high school graduation.

COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION II
Grades:             11
Prerequisite:      Commercial Construction I
Credits:             2 Junior year
This one-year, two-period course will provide second-year Commercial Construction students with the knowledge and skills to pursue entry-level employment in the field of construction. Through a hands-on approach, each student will develop skills in blueprint reading, surveying, scaffolding, pre-formed concrete structuring, and construction management. Students will develop technical skills that are used throughout the commercial construction industry. This course will fulfill two of the elective credits required for high school graduation.



COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION III

Grades:             12
Prerequisite:      Commercial Construction II
Credits:             3 Senior year
This one-year, three-period advanced course will provide third-year Commercial Construction students with the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue entry-level employment in the field of commercial construction. Through hands-on projects, each student will develop skills and knowledge in finish carpentry and cabinetmaking. Students will develop technical skills that are used throughout the commercial construction industry, including labor issues, contract law, and entrepreneurship. This course will fulfill three of the elective credits required for high school graduation.
