| DRAFTING I Grades: 10, 11 Prerequisite: Grades 10 and 11, drawing, good math skills and able to concentrate and understand theory with strong perceptual skills and algebra skills Credits: 2 This two period, 90-minute course will introduce students to the fundamentals of drafting design and computer aided drafting or CAD. Students will be exposed to basic CAD skills, engineering drawing and architectural drawings using AutoCAD, the most popular software tool in the industry. Students will learn about and produce residential house plans according to UBC codes and industrial standards. This course may allow students to earn college credit from the Community College of Southern Nevada and the Art Institute of Las Vegas. . |
DRAFTING II Grades: 11, 12 Prerequisite: Grade 10, course in blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, electronics, computer programming, algebra or taking algebra during the Junior year, Drafting I Credits: 3 This three period course is to provide students with more in depth AutoCAD geometric construction skills, along with mechanical and architectural plan drawing and design skills. Students will develop a complete set of residential house plans using architectural-drawing standards. This course may allow students to earn college credit from the Community College of Southern Nevada and the Art Institute of Las Vegas. |
