TV PRODUCTIONS I TV Pro pathway Grades: 11 Prerequisite: None Credits: 2 credits Junior year This two-credit course is designed to provide students with the fundamental principles and skills necessary for television production. The operation of television cameras, audio, lighting, and video equipment, as well as utilizing field and studio equipment, is emphasized along with the process of television program development. Students rotate through a series of television production tasks, which include commercials, PSAs, VSOTs, feature and news stories. Also, the Professional Journalism Code of Ethics and news writing are studied in depth. Speech 1 is required with this career and technical area. TELECOMMUNICATIONS (TV Productions II) Grades: 12 Prerequisite: Speech, art and design classes, good writing skills and creativity Credits: 3 credits Senior year Stanine/NPR: 6-9 / 60-100 This three-credit course is designed to expand the knowledge and skills from the Television Production I course of study. Advanced students study both linear and non-linear postproduction editing, single camera production, field and studio lighting, and movie and corporate production techniques plus special effects. Students produce a daily news program that instructors can air in their classroom. Field experience opportunities with area production companies may be included. |
